Applicants holding a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent academic qualification are eligible to continue their studies at the Master's level.
Candidates for admission to a Master's programme are required to pass the Common Master's Examination (except in cases established by legislation), using the test type specified for the relevant educational programme, and to overcome the minimum competency threshold established by law.
A candidate becomes eligible to participate in the University's entrance examination(s) if they overcome the minimum competency thresholds in at least three out of the four sections of the Common Master's Examination. A Master's programme will be launched provided that at least five candidates are enrolled.
Admission Without the Common Master's Examination
Admission to educational programmes without passing the Common Master's Examination is carried out in accordance with Order No. 224/N of December 29, 2011, issued by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, concerning the approval of procedures for submission and review of documents by applicants, Master's candidates, and students entitled to study at a higher educational institution without passing the Unified National Examinations or Common Master's Examinations.
Mobility
Students admitted through mobility are also eligible for enrolment in educational programmes in accordance with Order No. 10/N of February 2, 2010, of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, "On the Approval of the Rules and Fees for Transfer from One Higher Educational Institution to Another".
Admission through internal mobility is also possible. Relevant deadlines, procedures, and additional requirements are determined by an act of the University Rector and published on the University's website within a reasonable period before the start of the internal mobility process. Additional information may also be found in the University's Academic Regulations available on the University website.
Programme-Specific Admission Requirements
Psychodiagnostics and Counselling
The Master's programme is open to holders of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology or an equivalent qualification, Master's and Doctoral degree holders in Psychology, as well as holders of a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Social Sciences and certified psychiatrists who have completed, or are at least second-year students of, a postgraduate psychotherapy programme that complies with international standards in modalities such as Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Psychosynthesis, Body-Centred Therapy, Biosynthesis, Bioenergetic Analysis, Psychoanalysis, and others.
Applicants must successfully pass the Common Master's Examination and the University entrance examinations in the field of study and English language at B2 level. The weighting of the examinations is as follows: Specialisation – 70%, Foreign Language – 30%.
The specialisation examination includes a professional essay in the field, evaluation of the applicant's undergraduate GPA, and assessment of employment experience in the profession. Applicants are exempt from the English language examination if they hold an internationally recognised language certificate or have obtained higher education through an English-language programme, confirmed by a recognition document issued by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
Law
The Master's Programme in Law is open to holders of a Bachelor's degree in Law or an equivalent qualification who successfully pass the Common Master's Examination and the University entrance examinations in the field of study and a foreign language (English or German, B2 level required). Applicants are exempt from the foreign language examination if they hold an internationally recognised certificate confirming the required language proficiency. Candidates who have completed a full or partial Bachelor's or Master's programme in English or German are also exempt.
Public Administration
The programme is open to holders of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification who successfully pass the Common Master's Examination and the University entrance examinations in the field of study and English or German at B2 level. Applicants are exempt from the foreign language examination if they hold an internationally recognised language certificate or have obtained higher education through a programme taught in the relevant language, confirmed by a recognition document issued by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
Social and Attitude Psychology
The programme is open to holders of at least a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification recognised by law. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Russian or English at B2 level. Applicants holding an internationally recognised language certificate at the required level are exempt from the language examination; otherwise, they must take the University's foreign language entrance examination.
In addition to the University's admission requirements, applicants must submit a motivation letter outlining their expectations, vision, and reasons for choosing this specific programme. Applicants may also provide any additional information demonstrating their academic or professional experience.
History of Georgia
Applicants holding a Bachelor's degree may enrol in the programme by successfully passing the Common Master's Examination and the University entrance examinations in the field of study and a foreign language at B2 level (Russian, English, German, or French). The weighting of the University examinations is 70% for the specialisation examination and 30% for the foreign language examination.
Applicants are exempt from the foreign language examination if they hold an internationally recognised language certificate recognised by the University Language Centre or have obtained higher education through a programme taught in the relevant language, confirmed by a recognition document issued by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
Georgian Philology
The admission requirement for Georgian citizens applying to the Master's Programme in Georgian Philology is a Bachelor's degree in any field and successful completion of a written entrance examination in the specialisation.
Considering the characteristics of Georgia's education system and labour market, graduates of any academic field may apply. However, the written examination determines the applicant's readiness to continue studies in Georgian Philology. Specifically, the examination assesses knowledge of Georgian literature and Kartvelian linguistics. The examination paper includes three theoretical questions in Georgian literature and two theoretical plus one practical question in Kartvelian linguistics.
Computer Science
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent academic qualification);
- Successful completion of the Common Master's Examination;
- English language examination. Applicants are exempt if they hold an internationally recognised B2-level certificate or have obtained higher education through an English-language programme, confirmed by a recognition document issued by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement;
- Entrance examination in the field of study.
The specialisation entrance examination may be conducted in written, oral (interview), and/or computer-based format and assesses applicants' knowledge of fundamental programming concepts and algorithms, as well as practical programming skills in Python, C++, or Java. The examination also evaluates knowledge of selected topics in discrete mathematics.
Applicants may be exempt from the specialisation examination if they have obtained higher education in Computer Science or a related field, or if they can demonstrate sufficient knowledge of programming and mathematical foundations through their diploma supplement or other supporting documentation. The final assessment is made by the admissions committee.
