29 Years Since the October 28, 1990’s Multi-Party Democratic Elections

An event in order to commemorate 29 years since the October 28, 1990, multi-party, democratic elections was held at Georgian University.Rector of the University spoke about the importance of this elections.
Professor Manana Tabidze spoke about Zviad Gamsakhurdia, the leader of the National Movement, about the nation's struggle for freedom and recalled the preparatory period for democratic elections.
Professor Vakhtang Guruli compared the situation in Georgia between 1917-1918 and 1990-1991 and spoke about the active work of the Russian special services.
Doctor of History Levan Jikia reviewed the results of multi-party elections.
At the end, Professor Tariel Putkaradze, a member of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Georgia, who signed the Independence Act of Georgia, delivered a speech.
