Award Ceremony of the Georgia National Prize Laureates
St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia congratulates the laureates of the Georgia National Prize and wishes them continued success in their academic and research activities.
On 29 January 2026, the award ceremony of the Georgia National Prize was held at the Administration of the President of Georgia. Based on the decision of the Georgia National Prize Commission, the President of Georgia, Mr. Mikheil Kavelashvili, presented laureate diplomas and medals to a group of authors for the scientific monographic work “History of the Caucasus” (two-volume edition).
The laureates are: Roin Metreveli, Vakhtang Guruli, Lela Mikiashvili, Valerian Vashakidze, Giorgi Cheishvili, Otar Janelidze, Joni Kvitsiani, and Aleksandre Daushvili.
This scholarly work represents a significant academic achievement in the development of Georgian and Caucasian historiography and clearly reflects the high academic standards of Georgian scholars.
