Book Translation Program 2023

The Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy announces a competition for a book translation program by American authors. The goal of the program is to increase financial and physical access to the latest research, textbooks and contemporary popular literature for Georgian students, researchers and the interested public.
Publishing houses, public and private educational institutions can participate in the competition. In case of funding the program, grants will be issued in the following directions within the book translation project:

• Public Policy/Civic Education
• Media
• Law
• Economics
• General Education
• Literature

An applicant may submit no more than five (5) applications. The applicant can participate in the competition in both terms of the program, however, re-submitting the same application in the second term will not be allowed.
The literature selected for translation should not be already published in Georgian. The translation must be done from the original language.

The deadlines for receiving project applications electronically are:
March 29, 2023; 18:00
May 29, 2023; 18:00
Please send the project application electronically at TbilisiGrants@state.gov and include the name of the program (Book Translation Program) in the subject line.

• Completed application form

• CV/résumé of the translator (indicating translation experience and translated works)
• A copy of the communication and/or agreement with the copyright owner
• Co-financing consent letter (if any)
• Letter of consent from partner organization (if applicable)

Mandatory registration
All grant recipient organizations are required to register on the www.SAM.gov portal
