Open Call Announced for One Academic Position of Professor in the Field of Law

For the purpose of selecting academic staff, an open competition is announced at the St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia for one academic position of Professor in the field of Civil Law and Civil Procedure.

The period for submission of application documents and registration of applicants is September 7-8, 2026. Applications shall be submitted to the Office of Records Management and Human Resources, Building I (Room N104), 53A Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue, Tbilisi, from 11:00 to 17:00.

The Competition Commission shall announce the competition results no later than September 18.

Main Requirements for the Academic Position of Professor:

1. The legislative requirement for appointment to the vacant academic position of Professor is a doctoral degree or an equivalent academic qualification, together with at least six years of scientific and pedagogical experience.
2. When evaluating candidates for each academic position, the Commission will consider achievements in educational and research activities, which may be assessed and demonstrated through the following:
   1. Scientific publications, research scholarships and grants received during the last five years, and other scientific activities;
   2. Participation in scientific conferences and professional development events during the last five years;
   3. International cooperation and activities in academic and research fields;
   4. For candidates applying for the positions of Professor or Associate Professor, a vision for the development of the relevant academic program at the University;
   5. Syllabus or syllabi (evaluated based on content, learning outcomes, and the appropriateness of the methods used to achieve those outcomes). For the purposes of the competition, applicants may submit no more than three syllabi;
   6. A scientific publication, project, or research work which, in the applicant's opinion, best demonstrates their scientific potential;
   7. Other specific requirements established for the particular vacant academic position, where applicable.

Documents Required for the Competition:
Applicants wishing to participate in the competition are required to submit the following documentation to the Competition Commission during the application period:

1. A completed application addressed to the Competition Commission (application form available at sangu.edu.ge);
2. Curriculum Vitae (CV), in both electronic and printed formats;
3. A completed applicant questionnaire together with its electronic version (on a CD or memory card) (form available at sangu.edu.ge);
4. A copy of an identity document;
5. One passport-size photograph (3×4 cm);
6. A document certifying scientific and pedagogical employment at an authorized or equivalent higher education institution;
7. Information on scientific publications relevant to the competition field published during the last five years (at the applicant's discretion), together with the publication that best demonstrates the applicant's scientific achievements;
8. Syllabus or syllabi for the relevant course(s), prepared by the applicant, in both electronic and printed formats;
9. Notarized copies of the document(s) confirming the award of a doctoral degree;
10. Information confirming research scholarships, grants, and/or other professional activities during the last five years;
11. Information confirming participation in scientific conferences and professional development activities during the last five years;
12. Documentation confirming international cooperation and activities in the relevant field;
13. A vision for the development of the relevant academic program;
14. Documents confirming education and/or qualifications obtained abroad (if applicable), accompanied by a notarized Georgian translation and a recognition document issued by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement;
15. A certificate of criminal record and a certificate confirming that the applicant has not been deprived of the right to hold the relevant position, issued by the competent authority.

GCUB-MOB International Scholarship Programme for Master’s and Doctoral Studies in Brazil

The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) has announced the call for applications for the fifth edition of the GCUB-MOB International Mobility Programme (Call No. 001/2026).

The programme offers international students more than 880 full scholarships for Master’s and Doctoral programmes, including 539 Master’s scholarships and 350 Doctoral scholarships. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to study at 62 universities in Brazil.

The scholarships are awarded for the full standard duration of the programme and are equivalent in amount to the funding provided for Brazilian students. Participation in the programme and submission of applications are free of charge.

The programme is open to non-Brazilian citizens from countries that maintain diplomatic relations with the Federative Republic of Brazil.

The fifth edition of the programme places particular emphasis on the following areas:

• geographical diversity of participants;
• candidates from countries with a low Human Development Index (HDI);
• academic and teaching staff;
• female candidates;
• study programmes offered outside Brazil’s traditional urban centres.

Academic Discussion on “Artificial Intelligence in Education”

On June 19, 2026, at 12:00, an academic discussion on “Artificial Intelligence in Education” will be held at SANGU on the initiative of the Language Centre.

As part of the event, students will deliver short presentations and take part in a panel discussion focusing on the role, opportunities, and challenges of artificial intelligence in the modern educational environment.

The event aims to develop students’ critical thinking, effective communication, public speaking, and evidence-based reasoning skills, while also supporting the discussion of current issues in an academic format.

This format is being introduced at SANGU for the first time and will lay the foundation for a new series of student academic discussions and public presentations to be held every semester.

Student Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference - “1700 Years Since the Autocephaly of the Georgian Apostolic Church”

International Conference - “I HAVE A VOICE”

On June 10, 2026, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia (SANGU) will host the international conference “I HAVE A VOICE”, dedicated to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and assistive technologies.

The conference is organized within the framework of the project “I HAVE A VOICE – Building Academic Foundations for Augmentative and Alternative Communication in Georgia”.

The project is implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Czech Challenge Fund 2025 and is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The project is carried out by Consort Georgia and Palacký University Olomouc.

Project partners include Ilia State University, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The project is supported by MAC Georgia and the Georgian Association of Speech and Language Therapists.

The conference speakers will include Associate Professor Jaromír Maštalíř, Ph.D., of Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic), along with AAC specialists Jana Šarounová and Lenka Říhová.

Conference topics will include the importance of communication and the role of AAC, the use of Core Vocabulary, the development of functional communication, practical experiences, and international approaches in the field.

Erasmus+ Participants to Present Report on Their Visit to Croatia

On June 9, at 12:00, SANGU will host a report presentation by Business Administration students about their visit to Croatia within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.

Students Luka Alibegashvili, Nika Mameishvili, and Luka Ghurchumelia will share their experience, impressions, and knowledge gained during the international training course “Blue Entrepreneurship for Youth Workers”.

The training course was held from April 27 to May 4 in Zagreb and Samobor, Croatia. The project focused on developing professional skills for youth workers, deepening knowledge of sustainable entrepreneurship, and introducing modern approaches to the blue economy.

During the meeting, participants will also discuss ecologically responsible entrepreneurship, sustainable development, and the role of Erasmus+ projects in supporting students’ professional and personal growth.

Higher School of Translation and Interpreting Announces Admission

St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University offers a high-quality educational program for individuals interested in professional development in translation and interpreting. The program aims to strengthen practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the field of translation.

The Higher School of Translation and Interpreting has been successfully operating since 2011 with the support of the British Council. The school offers a modern classroom equipped for simultaneous interpreting and a diverse range of study modules.

Workshop for Students - Ethical Use of Generative AI and Plagiarism Prevention

St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia will host a workshop for students on "The Ethical Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Automated Tools, Identifying Plagiarism, and Ways to Avoid It."

Falling Walls Lab is an international platform that brings together young researchers, innovators, and professionals from various fields. Participants will present their ideas in a 3-minute pitch format and answer the central question: “Which wall does your idea break?”

Public Lecture by Professor David Ellery at SANGU

On May 25, at 14:00, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia will host a public lecture by Professor David Ellery on the topic: “Geopolitical Uncertainty and Unpredictability: Challenge and Opportunity”.

During the lecture, Professor Ellery will discuss geopolitical challenges in the contemporary international environment, strategic leadership, security policy, and the effective use of opportunities in times of global instability.

Professor David Ellery is an internationally recognized expert in strategy and strategic leadership. He has 35 years of experience in foreign and public service, where he has been involved at the highest level in the development and implementation of strategic policy, including in the fields of national security and defence.

He is a Professor and Honorary Fellow at Durham University, a Professor at the National Defence Academy in Vienna, Dean of the Regional Strategic Leadership Course for the Western Balkans, and Senior Research Fellow of the “Changing Character of War” programme at the University of Oxford. He also collaborates with Durham’s Research and Innovation Institute, where his work focuses on strategy and strategic leadership in the context of the development and application of modern technologies.

Erasmus+ Funded Mobility Programs for Students

St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University announces a call for applications for short-term international student mobility. The mobility is funded within the framework of the Erasmus+ international exchange program at the University of Naples for the fall semester of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Bachelor’s and master’s students from the fields of Georgian Philology, History of Georgia, and History are eligible to participate in the competition.

The mobility involves spending one semester at the host university and taking selected courses agreed with the program head, the dean’s office, and the Quality Assurance and Strategic Development Office. The list of offered courses is available at the following link: List of courses

• The student must have completed the first year of the bachelor’s level;
• For the student, the fall semester of the 2026-2027 academic year must not be the final graduating semester of the program;

International Scientific Conference Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Academician Shota Nadirashvili

On April 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM, an International Scientific Conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the distinguished scholar and public figure, Academician Shota Nadirashvili, will be held at the St. King David the Builder Conference Hall of St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia.

The conference is organized in collaboration with St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University (SANGU), the Faculty of Psychology of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, the Faculty of Psychology of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, and the Georgian National Gestalt Institute.

The event will bring together Georgian and international researchers and will feature a wide range of presentations across various fields of psychology, including attitude theory, Gestalt therapy, metacognitive processes, and contemporary issues in neuroscientific research.

The conference will include plenary and thematic sessions, where both theoretical and applied studies will be presented. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and share professional experience.

At the end of the day, an award ceremony is planned, during which the Italian guests participating in the conference will be honored for their outstanding contributions to the science of psychotherapy: Professor Raffaele Sperandeo - psychiatrist, psychotherapist, PhD in Behavioral Sciences, Professor at the University of Basilicata (UNIBAS), Full Professor of F.I.S.I.G., and Director of SiPGI; and Lucia Luciana Mosca - psychologist, psychotherapist, music therapist, and pedagogue, researcher at Phenomena HUB APS, Clinical Manager of the Adolescent Service at ISM, and faculty member of SiPGI.

The School of Translation and Interpreting Marks Its 15th Anniversary

On April 25 at 12:00, a celebratory meeting dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the School of Translation and Interpreting will be held at the St. Ilia the Righteous Conference Hall of St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University.

For 15 years, the School of Translation and Interpreting has been successfully operating and continues to attract strong interest. The program aims to prepare professional practicing translators and interpreters.

Since 2011, the School has graduated more than 100 professional translators and interpreters.

The initiator of the School is Professor Otar Mateshvili, who continues to lead the School of Translation and Interpreting to this day.

Public Lecture Series at SANGU - How Does the European Union Work?

On April 20, 21, and 22, 2026, at 11:00, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University will host a public lecture series by Professor Roman Strasser titled “How Does the European Union Work?”

Professor Roman Strasser is originally from Luxembourg and has been working for more than 37 years at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, within the Secretariat of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) Group. Over the years, he has held positions such as political advisor, Head of the Human Resources Division, and Head of the Intercultural and Religious Dialogue Unit. He is also the first Secretary General of the European Parliament - Georgia Friendship Group.

Free Italian Language Courses at SANGU

SANGU is launching Italian language courses, which will be offered free of charge to the university’s students, lecturers, and staff.

Registration is available for SANGU students, lecturers, and staff.

The course will be led by Maia Jijava, lecturer in Italian language teaching methodology at SANGU and expert-consultant at the Teachers’ House.

The course will begin on April 20 and continue until the end of June.

The Council of Young Scientists invites bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as young researchers under the age of 40, to participate in the 8th Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.

The conference aims to promote knowledge sharing, generation of innovative ideas, and multidisciplinary collaboration among young researchers from different fields.

Fulbright Graduate Student Program 2027-2028

The United States Embassy in Georgia is pleased to announce the competition for the 2027-2028 Fulbright Graduate Student Program.

The program provides full financial support for students pursuing a master’s degree at a U.S. university in various fields, including business administration.

The Fulbright Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships offered by the U.S. Government. Candidate selection is based on an open competition conducted by the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi.

Italian Government Scholarships for the Academic Year 2026-2027

The Italian Government Scholarships for the academic year 2026-2027 have been announced for foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad.

The scholarships are awarded for 9 months for master’s degree programs, doctoral studies, Higher Education in Arts, Music and Dance (AFAM) courses, as well as research programs conducted under academic supervision.

In addition, funding is available for 3 months for advanced courses in Italian language and culture.

The application deadline was March 26, 2026, at 17:00 Tbilisi time, 14:00 Italy time.

SANGU to Host a Screening of the Documentary Film “Victor and I”

On March 31 at 16:00, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University will host a screening of the documentary film “Victor and I”.

The event is dedicated to the birth month of the renowned Austrian psychiatrist, neurologist, and psychotherapist Viktor Frankl, as well as to the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis.

The film is directed by Alexander Vesely, Viktor Frankl’s grandson. The documentary has been dubbed into Georgian with the support of the Austrian Embassy.

The screening is organized with the support of the Caucasus Association of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis (CALEA) and the Austrian Embassy.

Before the screening, a short introduction will be presented about the life and work of Viktor Frankl.

The film duration is 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The event is open to all interested attendees.

Study in China – Eurasian Countries International Student Scholarship

The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, in cooperation with Heilongjiang Province, has established the “Eurasian Countries International Student Scholarship”.

Within this program, citizens of Georgia have the opportunity to individually apply for studies at higher education institutions in Heilongjiang Province, China.

The program will be implemented during 2026–2029 and provides annual scholarships for: 20 undergraduate, 100 master’s, and 30 doctoral students.

On March 19, 2026, a large-scale online information and networking webinar will be held, organized by the European Commission. The event is dedicated to supporting representatives of the research and innovation sector from the Eastern Partnership countries.

The webinar aims to inform Georgian researchers and innovators about the future priorities and funding mechanisms of the European Union’s research and innovation framework programme — Horizon Europe. The following topics will be discussed during the webinar:

• Presentation of the Horizon Europe 2026–2027 Work Programme;
• Thematic priorities of strategic importance for the Eastern Partnership region (e.g., Artificial Intelligence in Science);

Discover Your Profession - Psychology

Within the framework of the project “Discover Your Profession,” St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University invites students of grades 10, 11 and 12 to a meeting aimed at introducing the Bachelor’s Program in Psychology, presenting the essence of the profession and supporting students in the process of making informed career decisions.

The meeting will be led by the Head of SANGU’s Bachelor’s Program in Psychology, Professor Dimitri Nadirashvili. Representatives of the Faculty of Psychology, Rusudan Kiladze, Khatia Gogoladze and Ucha Macharashvili, will also participate.

“Discover Your Profession - Business Administration”

St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University invites 10th, 11th and 12th grade students to participate in the lecture-seminar series “Discover Your Profession - Business Administration.”

The project aims to introduce students to the business field from a real-world perspective, provide meetings with leading industry professionals, and help participants better define their professional interests and future career direction.

The seminar series will cover business cases, the role of marketing and media in the modern economy, an overview of Georgia’s banking sector, career opportunities in ESG, cybersecurity as a profession, and practical aspects of starting and developing a business.

LEPL Youth Agency Announces a Grant Competition for Students

The Youth Agency announces a grant competition for students, aimed at supporting and empowering students of higher education and vocational education institutions and offering them diverse opportunities.

The competition is open to Georgian citizens who are active-status students/vocational students at a higher and/or vocational education institution and who, for the purpose of implementing the grant project, form an initiative group bringing together at least 5 active-status students/vocational students.

Latvian State Scholarships 2026/2027

The State Education Development Agency of the Republic of Latvia announces a scholarship program for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The scholarship program provides:

• Funding for studies at Latvian universities during the 2026/2027 academic year for students and academic staff of higher education institutions;
• Funding for participation in summer schools organized by Latvian universities.

Monthly scholarship amount and duration:

Discover Your Profession - Law

Organized by St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University, simulated criminal procedure sessions will be held for 11th and 12th grade students interested in law. The initiative offers practical experience and helps participants explore the legal profession and related career pathways.

The project includes four sessions. Participants will gradually become familiar with key elements of criminal procedure and practical skills related to case handling, investigation, and procedural actions.

• Rights of the accused and procedural safeguards;
• Case handling logic and core stages;
• Key approaches to conducting investigations;
• Witness questioning procedure;
• Techniques for drafting an arrest record;
• Purpose and essence of an investigative experiment;

Public Lecture by Professor David Ellery at SANGU

On January 29 at 13:00, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University will host a public lecture by Professor David Ellery titled “2026: The Challenge for Strategy and Strategic Leadership”.

Professor David Ellery is an internationally recognized expert in the field of strategy and strategic leadership. He has 35 years of experience in foreign and public service and has worked at the highest level on the formulation and implementation of strategic policy, including in the areas of national security and defense.

He is a Professor and Honorary Fellow at the University of Durham, a Professor at the National Defence Academy in Vienna, Dean of the Regional Strategic Leadership Course for the Western Balkans, and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s “Changing Character of War” programme. He also collaborates with the Durham Institute of Research and Innovation, focusing on strategy and strategic leadership in the context of modern technological development and application.

During the lecture, Professor Ellery will address the global strategic environment of 2026 and key challenges related to strategic decision-making, leadership, the resilience of states and institutions, and the impact of technological change on strategic thinking.

Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program and Kirkland Research Scholarships 2026

The Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program offers two semesters of study at one of four academic centers in Poland (Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, or Lublin). The program also includes a professional internship of at least two weeks in public, private, or non-governmental organizations, as well as an extensive schedule of trainings and seminars designed for young leaders and experts with higher education.

In addition, the Lane Kirkland Research Program (KIRKLAND RESEARCH Scholarships 2026) has been announced for researchers under the age of 45 who hold a doctoral degree and currently occupy an academic position.

Training for High School Students: Specifics of Public Service

Within the project “Discover Your Profession”, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University will hold an online training on 18 December at 18:00 on the topic “Specifics of Public Service”.

The training will be delivered by Giorgi Chifchiuri, Lecturer at SANGU School of Law and Deputy Head of the Lawmaking Department of the Central Office of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

Participants will gain insight into the specifics of working in the public sector, the role and responsibilities of public servants, as well as key legal frameworks. The training will help students better understand how the state system operates and what professional opportunities exist in this field.

The training is intended for 11th and 12th grade students interested in law, public administration or administrative studies.

Monograph Presentation at St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University

On Wednesday, 19 November, at 14:00, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia will host the presentation of a newly published monograph by Doctor of Philology Mikheil Labadze in the Small Hall named after St. Ilia the Righteous. The title of the monograph is “The Issue of Distinguishing between Language and Dialect in Linguistic Kartvelology (with Reference to International Experience)”.

The monograph addresses one of the key topics in contemporary linguistics, namely the problem of distinguishing between a language and a dialect. It examines the criteria used to define the status of a linguistic unit and discusses in which cases a particular variety is regarded as a language and in which cases as a dialect. Special attention is given to international scholarly approaches and to the ethnocultural factor, which remains one of the most frequently applied criteria worldwide.

The event is organized by the Kartvelology Centre of the School of Humanities and Law.

On November 17, at 14:00, in SANGU’s St. Ilia the Righteous Conference Hall, Daniel Okropiridze, a PhD student from Sokhumi University, will deliver a public lecture on the topic: “The Politics of Memory in Medieval Georgia.”

Global Media Literacy Hackathon

The goal of the Global Media Literacy Hackathon is to encourage young people, sector professionals, and future startup founders to reflect on challenges around media literacy and ways to solve them.

"Eugen Ionescu" Research Scholarship for Doctoral and Postdoctoral Mobility

The Government of Romania, in cooperation with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), announces the "Eugen Ionescu" research scholarship programme for the 2025-2026 academic year. The scheme is intended for doctoral students and research oriented teaching staff who work in French speaking academic environments.

The "Eugen Ionescu" mobility scholarship enables French speaking teachers and researchers to enhance their research and professional competences in Romania, within AUF member universities.

Information Session on the New Project - “Paralegals”

On October 31, at 13:00, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University, in collaboration with the Legal Aid Service, invites you to an information session introducing the new project - “Paralegals”.

The session will be held in a Q&A format, giving participants the opportunity to learn about the project’s objectives and opportunities and to ask questions directly to the organizers.

International Conference “Smart Cities 2025” in Bucharest

The 13th Smart Cities International Conference (SCIC) will be held in Bucharest, Romania from December 3–5, 2025, under the theme “Leading for People, Accelerating with Digital.”

The event marks the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Public Administration and aims to bring together academics, policymakers, and early-stage researchers to discuss innovations in digital governance and the development of smart cities.

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2026-2027

The U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi is pleased to announce the annual Fulbright competition for Georgian scholars for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is a non-degree, post-doctoral award program for junior and senior researchers, university lecturers and experts from academic institutions in Georgia who wish to conduct post-doctoral research, lecture, or pursue combined lecturing and research in the United States. The length of the program is three to six months.

The Fulbright Scholarship is flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The Fulbright Program was established in 1946 and is named after former Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas. The recruitment of candidates for the Fulbright Visiting Scholars Program is based on an open competition by the Public Diplomacy Section of U.S. Embassy Tbilisi.

All candidates must currently be affiliated with one of the academic or research institutions in Georgia. Special preference will be given to candidates who have the capacity and commitment to take full advantage of a program of research or lecturing at a U.S. institution, and who are willing to share their experience and knowledge after returning to Georgia. The Fulbright experience should be of value not only to the scholar but also to the scholar’s home institution, as well as to the host U.S. institution.

Successful projects and research proposals selected for Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program will be those that align with the U.S. government’s priorities of enhancing national security, promoting economic prosperity and fostering international cooperation. St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University announces admission to preparatory courses for the 2025–2026 Unified National Exams in the following 9 subjects:

Each subject is taught with a high standard of instruction, regular testing, detailed result analysis, creative interaction with instructors, and a positive learning environment — all of which lead to successful performance in the national exams.

Applicants can choose to study one or more subjects. The program lasts for 30 academic weeks. Each subject includes two two-hour classes per week. Study groups will consist of no fewer than 4 and no more than 7 students per subject.

Students who complete the preparatory program and enroll in SANGU will receive a 20% discount on the semester tuition fee. This financial support will continue in subsequent semesters if the student’s academic performance in each course does not fall below 81 points.

AI Student Camp - Registration is Open

Organized by the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency, the AI-themed Student Camp will take place in Bakuriani from August 18 to 23, 2025.

The camp is designed for undergraduate students (1st to 4th year) from accredited higher education institutions across Georgia in the following fields:
- Computer Science, Information Technologies, and related disciplines
- Economics, Business Administration, Management, Finance, and similar areas

Students from professional colleges in relevant disciplines are also welcome to apply.

Fifty selected participants will explore the latest trends in innovation and technology and engage in hands-on training sessions and workshops in programming, artificial intelligence, and other high-demand fields. Lecture on Assistive Technologies

On June 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University will host an educational meeting in the St. Ilia the Righteous Conference Hall, dedicated to modern assistive technologies for persons with disabilities and special educational needs.

Speaker: Mariam Gelashvili — specialist in modern technologies, founder of “Consort Georgia,” and invited lecturer at SANGU.

The audience will learn about innovative technologies that enhance communication, access to computer systems, and environmental control for persons with disabilities. Globally recognized, assistive technologies are powerful tools that expand the capabilities and autonomy of individuals with limited abilities.

The event is intended for special education teachers, subject teachers, parents, speech therapists, students, and all interested individuals.

Applied Research Competition at Alte University

Applications are now open for the Applied Research Competition announced by Alte University. The deadline for submission is 23 June 2025.

The goal of the competition is to support research initiatives aimed at generating new knowledge or applying existing knowledge in innovative ways to address specific, real-world problems or practical challenges.

The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia announces the 2025 GFI Call for Proposals — a joint research internship program in collaboration with the French Institute of Georgia.

The aim of the competition is to promote scientific collaboration between Georgia and France, encourage career development for early-career researchers, and support joint engagement in international scientific projects.

Eligibility and Requirements:

• Applicants must be Georgian citizens who hold a PhD or an equivalent academic degree obtained no more than 12 years prior to the announcement date.
• A formal letter of support is required from a French university or research institution.

• The duration of the research internship in France is one month.

Call for Applications: ESD Okayama Award 2025

With the goal of promoting global education, sustainability, and community engagement, the 2025 ESD Okayama Award competition has been announced with the support of UNESCO ESD-Net 2030.

The award aims to identify and support projects that promote Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) at the local level and serve as models of good practice.

Submitted initiatives should combine knowledge-sharing and active engagement in building a sustainable society.

Key eligibility criteria:
– ESD projects must be nominated by an organization and must have been running for at least 2 years;
– Each applicant may submit 1 or 2 projects;
– Award amount: USD 3,000 per winning project;
– Application deadline: May 31, 2025, 17:00 (Japan time).

The award ceremony will take place on October 21, 2025, in Okayama City, Japan, organized by the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability, Okayama City, and the ESD Promotion Commission. The presentation will focus on the ancestors and relatives of the great Georgian scholar and public figure, founder of Tbilisi State University – Ivane Javakhishvili (1876–1940), on the paternal side – his father Aleksandre Javakhishvili (1844–1912) and his mother Sofio Vakhvakhishvili (1855–1928).

The Youth Agency of Georgia announces a grant competition for students.

EUROSTUDENT is a transnational research project that aims to study the social and economic conditions of students in the higher education area across nearly 30 European countries. The survey collects data on topics such as access to higher education, study program characteristics, budgeting and employment, income and expenses, housing conditions, and international mobility.

Based on the EUROSTUDENT data, countries are better equipped to plan and implement policies and programs that support the social and economic well-being of both domestic and international students.

Georgia has been participating in the survey since 2014. This year, bachelor's and master's students from higher education institutions in Georgia will be able to take part in the survey electronically starting from April 15. The 9th cycle of the survey is coordinated by the National Center for Educational Research.

To encourage participation in 2025, the National Center for Educational Research will organize a raffle. Fifteen students randomly selected from the survey participants will receive a 500 GEL voucher for tech equipment.

“Eurostudent” is a large-scale international research studying social-economic and living conditions of students in European Higher Education. The project has been regularly carried out in over twenty European countries since the 90s. The main goal of the international project is to collect comparative data on the social dimension of European higher education, more precisely, to collect information about students’ social-economic conditions, living conditions, international mobility, etc. Moreover, “Eurostudent” aims to create European higher education’s structured and standardized monitoring system that would enable an effective structured measuring instrument for specific groups of students; One of the main objectives of the research is to highlight the issues and barriers in the higher education system’s functionality through comparative data of the current situation in different European countries.

The main aim of the subprogram - “The Eurostudent National Project” is to collect and analyze comparable data on socio-economic and living conditions, study conditions, and international mobility of students in the Georgian higher education system. Large-scale research within the “Eurostudent” project is being conducted to achieve the main objective of the program. Results of Georgia will be analyzed next to the results of students from European countries. The results of Georgia will enter the international comparative data-analysis report.

Georgia participated in Eurostudent V in 2014 as a pilot country. From 2016-2018 our country was fully involved in the sixth wave of the “Eurostudent” project. The seventh wave of the project, with a total of 26 participant countries, started in 2018 and lasted until 2021. The eighth wave, with a total of 27 participant countries, started at the end of 2021 and is designed to be finished in 2024. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia provides financial and technical support for the project.

The results of the project will dim light on the socio-economic challenges and special needs of the students. Also, the project will provide a clear picture of gender, age, and region-specific issues. A comparative analysis of socio-economic situation and living conditions of students in public and private higher education institutions will be carried out. The study will offer data on the socio-economic situation, living conditions, and specific needs of international students in Georgia. Herewith, in the current (8th) wave of the “Eurostudent” project, positive or negative impact of the pandemic on the students’ study and living conditions will be measured.

The project will allow the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia to analyze mobility parameters, better understand existing issues and challenges in European countries and learn about European students’ experiences in regard to their socio-economic and living conditions.

To sum up-the project will enable the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia to implement adequate policies and programs for local and international students in Georgia.

As part of the “Discover Your Profession” project, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University invites 9th–12th grade students to attend a training session on March 13, 2025, at 17:00, designed to introduce them to the legal profession and help guide their career decisions.

The training will be led by Ketevan Khurtsilava, who will cover key topics such as:

"Helping Hand" NGO implements the "Volunteer Mentor Program" project, aiming to train mentors and connect them with new volunteers in order to promote the culture of volunteering among young people.

Romanian government announced annual scholarship program for foreign nationals in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral studies at accredited higher education institutions in Romania, in all fields except medicine, dentistry and pharmacy.

A public lecture by Georgian psychologist, professor, lecturer at SANGU Zurab Vakhania on the topic “Which Empowers Women”, will be held at Georgian University on December 13.
The lecture was created by Zurab Vakhania for the organized event of the SAKOSI master class, which received great interest and response from both women and men.

On December 8, 2023, the Georgian University will host a public lecture by Doctor of Philosophy Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb, an internationally trained and recognized Gestalt psychotherapist, focuses on supporting human vitality by taking into account the creative adaptation aspects of trauma, on the topic: “Working with Attachment and Trauma in Gestalt Therapy”.

Participants will explore working with attachment patterns to heal from trauma from a Gestalt therapy perspective.

The European Innovation Academy is launching a new project hosted by the Caucasus University and the US Market Access Center (USMAC) in Batumi. The project envisages the establishment of an “innovation and entrepreneurship leadership bootcamp (camp)”, which will unite students from different countries, including 100 Georgian students. UNESCO announces acceptance of applications for the 2022 Silk Roads Youth Research Grant for Young Researchers.
The program is a UNESCO initiative supported by the National Commission for UNESCO Affairs of the People's Republic of China. To win a grant, a candidate's research must cover issues related to the Commonwealth of the Silk Road, the diversity of the Silk Road and its role in the creation of modern societies, intercultural dialogue, social cohesion, regional and international cooperation, as well as sustainable peace and development.

The grant is awarded to young researchers under the age of 35, the application deadline is March 31st.

The joint project of the Public Audit Institute and international audit companies starts on April 11, with the aim of promoting the career development of young people interested in the field of auditing.

Internship: in the field of library fund management
Purpose of the internship:
The aim of the internship is to give the 2nd or 3rd year students of the Georgian University the opportunity to get acquainted with and study the library activities, the principles of working with library documents and sorting. After passing the training and practical course, the student will be awarded with a certificate.
Number of interns: The internship is announced for two applicants.
Description of the activity, the intern will be assigned:

• Development of syllabi for training courses;
• Finding information about new resources;
• Introduction of teaching and research literature to the university community;
• Informing the University community about library resources;
• Work on digitizing books;
• Involvement in ongoing processes in the library.

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia announces a funding competition for Master’s students study and research projects 2021. The purpose of the funding is to support the increase of the quality of scientific research, raising the academic level and development of research skills within the framework of the master's thesis, as well as improving the scientific-research potential of the Georgian higher education institution.

Main conditions of the competition:

• Only individual study-research grants will be awarded within the framework of the competition;
• Within the framework of the competition, a grant can be obtained by a citizen of Georgia, enrolled in an accredited educational program for a Master's degree at a higher education institution of Georgia, a student with active student status;
• At the time of receiving the grant, the Master's student must be a graduate of the Master's educational program or a student of the last semester;
• The duration of the project can be a min of 4 and a max of 10 months;
• The amount of a grant requested from the fund should not exceed 6000 GEL;
• Master's scholarship should not exceed 1200 GEL;
• It is not allowed to submit more than one application by the same person in the competition.

A memorandum of cooperation signed between St. Andrews Georgian University and the Ministry of Defense of Georgia aims to improve the country's defense capabilities by introducing different issues related to military.
As part of the cooperation, military servicemen and their family members (spouse and children) will benefit from a special offer:

• In order to support education, 50% of the annual tuition fee for accredited study programs is provided by the University and 50% by the Ministry (not more than 1125 (excluding taxes and pension contributions) in the amount of GEL);

On Friday, May 21, at 16:00, Manana Kobakhidze, who has a rich and long experience in professional activities, will deliver a public online lecture on “Gender Equality - Goals and Challenges” at Georgian University. 
The following issues will be discussed:

• Fundamental Equality and the Essence of Gender Equality, Historical Aspects of the Struggle for Women's Rights, Women's Rights and Key Challenges in Georgia;
• International legal acts in the field of protection of women's rights and gender equality;
• Georgia's domestic legal mechanisms, legislative / institutional framework to protect women's rights and ensure gender equality;
• Jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of Georgia on issues of discrimination on the grounds of gender;

On April 2, Avtandil Mikaberidze, Doctor of Classical Philology, the founder of the Georgian-Greek Institute and Culture Center "Caucasus" in Athens, delivered a public lecture on “11th Century Georgian Monastery Complex in Thrace: A Historical-Archaeological Review”.
