Lecture-Seminar: “Reasons of Success and Failure of Military Campaigns”
Giorgi Lekveishvili, Master of Defense Studies and Doctor of International Relations, conducted a lecture-seminar on the topic: “Reasons of Success and Failure of Military Campaigns” on 21 November.
Within the framework of the lecture-seminar, he reviewed the following:
• Why the Soviet Union failed to achieve success during the 1979-89 campaign in Afghanistan and what caused the failure of its policy in the said country;
• Why the US and the coalition formed by it could not successfully complete the RSM and ISAF missions in 2001-2021 and what caused its failure;
• Why the US failed to successfully complete the Iraq campaign in 2003-2011 and what caused the failure of its policy in the country;
• The speaker also spoke about the 2014-2022 wars between Russia and Ukraine.
