In today’s interview, we introduce Vika Dularidze, a student of the Bachelor's program in Philology at the School of Humanities and Law. “Before deciding to enroll at SANGU, I was looking for a university that would offer not only academic knowledge but also a value-based environment. Three years later, I can confidently say that my choice was the right one. The education and support I received at SANGU became a path for both professional and personal development.”
Hello, Vika!
Hello!
Tell us how you heard about SANGU and why you chose to continue your studies here?
I first heard about SANGU while I was still in school. At the time, I was actively searching for a university that aligned with my interests, values, and future professional goals. When I learned more about SANGU — its mission, vision, and connection to the Church — I became intrigued and started seriously considering it. It was important to me that the university be a place where, in addition to acquiring education, I could preserve human values, respect national traditions, and grow personally. I found all of this in SANGU. I wanted to gain in-depth knowledge and find an environment that would support both my academic and spiritual development. That is why I consciously chose to continue my studies at SANGU — a choice I have never regretted.
What were your main criteria when selecting a university, and how did you make your final decision?
The main criteria for me were the quality of education and the content of the academic program. I wanted to study my chosen field thoroughly and gain the knowledge and skills that would help me become a professional. I also paid close attention to the faculty — I wanted to know who would be the people from whom I would gain experience and knowledge. The learning environment was equally important — modern and student-centered. I made my final decision after reviewing SANGU’s program in detail, attending an open house, and meeting the lecturers and academic staff in person. That solidified my belief that this was the university I had been searching for.
When you chose SANGU, you probably had certain expectations — how do you evaluate the fulfillment of those expectations?
When I chose SANGU, I hoped it would be a place where I could not only acquire academic knowledge but also develop personally. I expected a warm and friendly environment. I believed the university would help me realize my interests and grow professionally, especially in the field of philology. Three years later, I can confidently and responsibly say that SANGU has fully met all my expectations. I can sincerely say that I made the right choice three years ago, and it is a decision I will never regret.
All your hard work and dedication also earned you a scholarship, which is a great achievement. What does this mean to you?
Receiving a scholarship is a very significant achievement for me. It’s not just financial support — it’s a symbol that hard work and dedication lead to success. For me, it represents a responsibility to continue developing purposefully and never settle for what I have already achieved. The scholarship also boosted my confidence — it showed me that the path I am on is yielding results. When you know your daily efforts will bring outcomes, it becomes a commitment to maintain the standard that led you to that success.
Why did you choose philology, and when did you realize you wanted to develop your abilities in this field?
Choosing philology was a natural and heartfelt decision for me. Since childhood, I’ve had a special love for books — I saw something unique in words, as if each text was a new world. I enjoyed not only the emotions I felt while reading but also reflecting on the content, bringing details to life, and thinking about what language gives us in understanding the human essence. I especially loved the Georgian language and literature in school, which deepened my interest in philology even more.
Beyond academics, what activities or projects are you involved in within or outside the university?
For me, university is not just about attending classes — it’s a place where I can explore my interests and discover what truly motivates me. Although I mainly focus on my academic work, I also try to get involved in activities related to self-development and expanding my knowledge. I participate in group projects, which not only help me grow academically but also enhance my collaboration and teamwork skills.
What advice would you give to those who want to be successful, motivated, and fulfilled in their profession and life?
I would advise them, first and foremost, to listen to themselves. True success comes when a person does what they love and sees themselves in. There is no easy path — every road requires effort — but if you follow it with sincerity and confidence, the results will follow. It’s important to believe in your abilities and value even the smallest accomplishments, because big success always starts small. Fulfillment doesn’t only mean external achievements — it’s the inner satisfaction with who you are and what you create. The key is to pursue your goals with full responsibility and belief in yourself.
Thank you very much. We wish you success.
Thank you.
