On June 12, 2026, a student scientific conference dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the autocephaly of the Georgian Apostolic Church was held, organized by the School of Humanities and Law.
The students opened the conference with a speech and video collage dedicated to the memory of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II. This was followed by student presentations on important topics related to the history of the Georgian Church.

The participants of the conference were welcomed by Professor Irakli Brachuli, Rector of the University, Associate Professor Khatuna Kukhalashvili, Deputy Dean of the School of Humanities and Law, and Associate Professor Gvantsa Burduli, Head of the History Programme.
At the end of the conference, certificates were awarded to the participants.
