On May 23, a scientific conference was held at SANGU by students of the History program within the School of Humanities and Law. The theme of the event was "Andrew the First-Called and Georgia." The conference was dedicated to the commemoration of the Apostle Andrew’s arrival in Georgia, celebrated on May 12.
The topics presented at the conference broadly highlighted the role of Saint Andrew the First-Called in both biblical and Georgian traditions. Presentations discussed his trace in Georgian literature, various versions of Meskhetian oral traditions, the concept of the Theotokos’ allocation of territories, and the historical perspectives of Prince Teimuraz.
The event clearly demonstrated the active involvement of youth in the academic process, their research interests, and their readiness to contribute to the preservation and interpretation of the country’s historical memory.
