On September 1, 2025, the 15th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Georgian Mathematical Union (GMU XV IC) was officially opened at Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi. The event is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university and brought together leading scientists from Georgia and abroad.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Ms. Maia Khajishvili, and the Rector of BSU, Mr. Tite Aroshidze, who both addressed the participants with welcome speeches.
The conference is chaired by the President of the Georgian Mathematical Union, Corresponding Member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Professor Alexander Meskhi.
Mr. Guram Gogiashvili, Head of the University Entrance Preparation Center at St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University (SANGU), and a member of the Scientific and Organizing Committees of the conference, delivered a presentation titled On Creative Collaboration with Artificial Intelligence in Mathematics Teaching and Learning, which generated significant interest among attendees.
During the event, distinguished mathematicians who celebrated their 80th or 90th birthdays were honored, including Professors Elizbar Nadaraya, Teimuraz Vefkhvadze, Guram Gogiashvili, Gia Jaiani, and Roland Duduchava. Congratulations were also extended to Professors Vakhtang Kvaratskhelia, Temur Jangveladze, and Nugzar Kereselidze on their 75th and 70th anniversaries.
