Student Conference: “Law in the Digital Age: Contemporary Challenges and Prospects”

St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University (SANGU) is organizing a Student Conference, “Law in the Digital Age - Contemporary Challenges and Prospects.” The conference aims to promote student research, discuss current legal issues related to the digital era, and share best practices. Topics are not restricted and may cover any relevant legal issue across branches of law.

Eligibility

The conference is open to Law students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Participants will receive certificates of participation after the conference.

Submission & Participation Requirements

  • Register and submit an abstract (in Georgian and English) and the full paper (electronic version) within the stated deadlines;
  • Bachelor’s and master’s submissions must include a signed supervisor’s endorsement attached to the paper;
  • Send abstracts and papers via email: conference@sangu.edu.ge.

Key Dates

  • Registration deadline: 20 November
  • Paper submission deadline: 30 November
  • Tentative conference dates: 5 December

The detailed agenda will be shared with registered participants.

Abstract Formatting Requirements

  1. The abstract must be prepared on A4 paper size, font Sylfaen; body text size 11, title size 14 Bold; line spacing 1.5; page margins: top and bottom – 2 cm, left – 2 cm, right – 1.5 cm. Paragraphs should be separated by one line space.
  2. The first line should indicate the author’s name, surname, and institution (Sylfaen 14); the second line – the title of the paper (Sylfaen 14); the third line – the text of the abstract (Sylfaen 11).
  3. The abstract should contain 300–500 words (in Georgian only).

Recommended Abstract Structure

  • General overview of the topic;
  • Relevance of the issue;
  • Structure of the paper or presentation;
  • Main questions or problems discussed;
  • Research methods;
  • Key findings or conclusions.

Full Paper Formatting Guidelines

  1. The paper must be prepared on A4 paper size, font Sylfaen; body text size 11, title size 14 Bold; line spacing 1.5; page margins: top and bottom – 2 cm, left – 2 cm, right – 1.5 cm. Paragraphs should be separated by one line space. The bibliography should be listed at the end of the paper in alphabetical order – Georgian sources first, followed by foreign-language sources.
  2. In-text citations and the reference list must follow the APA style (author’s surname and year of publication). When quoting or paraphrasing, include the relevant page numbers. For details, please visit: https://apastyle.apa.org/.
  3. The length of the full conference paper should be approximately 6–15 pages.
