Open Competition Announced for One Academic Position of Professor in Constitutional Law
The deadline for submitting application documents and registering for the competition is April 13 and 14, 2026. Address: 53a Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue, Tbilisi, Office of Administration and Human Resources Management, First Building (Room N104), from 11:00 to 17:00.
The commission is authorized to conduct the competition (review of applications submitted by candidates, evaluation of candidates and decision-making) starting from April 15, 2026, and to announce the results no later than April 29, 2026.
Main requirements for the academic position of Professor:
- The legislative requirement for occupying the vacant academic position of Professor is a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of scientific and pedagogical experience.
- When reviewing candidate applications for each academic position, the commission will consider the candidate’s achievements in educational and scientific research activities, which may be evaluated and confirmed by:
- Scientific publications, research scholarships and grants received during the last 5 years and other scientific activities;
- Participation in scientific conferences and professional development events during the last 5 years;
- International cooperation and activities in academic and scientific research directions;
- For the positions of Professor and Associate Professor, a vision for the development of the relevant academic program at the university;
- Syllabus/syllabi (evaluated based on the adequacy of content, learning outcomes and methods of achieving them). For the purposes of the competition, a candidate must submit no more than three syllabi;
- A scientific publication/project/research work that, in the candidate’s opinion, best demonstrates their scientific potential;
- Other specific requirements defined for the particular vacant position (if applicable).
Documents to be submitted for the competition:
Applicants wishing to participate in the competition must submit the following documentation to the commission during the application stage:
- Completed application addressed to the competition commission (form available at sangu.edu.ge);
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) in both electronic and printed form;
- Completed candidate questionnaire together with the electronic version (disk or memory card) (form available at sangu.edu.ge);
- Copy of an identity document;
- One photograph (3×4);
- Document confirming scientific and pedagogical experience at an authorized or equivalent higher education institution;
- Notarized copies of documents confirming the award of a doctoral degree;
- Information about scientific publications relevant to the competition position/field published within the last 5 years (according to the author’s judgment), together with the publication that best represents the candidate’s scientific work;
- Syllabus/syllabi for a relevant academic course prepared by the candidate (in electronic and printed form);
- Information confirming research scholarships, grants and/or other professional activities during the last five years;
- Information confirming participation in scientific conferences and professional development events during the last five years;
- Documentation confirming international academic or research cooperation in the relevant field;
- A vision for the development of the relevant academic program;
- Documents confirming education/qualifications obtained abroad (if applicable) must be accompanied by a notarized Georgian translation and a recognition document issued by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement of Georgia;
- A certificate from the relevant authorized body confirming the absence of a criminal record and a certificate regarding deprivation of rights.
