Open Call Announced for One Academic Position of Professor in the Field of Law

For the purpose of selecting academic staff, an open competition is announced at the St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia for one academic position of Professor in the field of Civil Law and Civil Procedure.

The period for submission of application documents and registration of applicants is September 7-8, 2026. Applications shall be submitted to the Office of Records Management and Human Resources, Building I (Room N104), 53A Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue, Tbilisi, from 11:00 to 17:00.

The Competition Commission shall announce the competition results no later than September 18.

Main Requirements for the Academic Position of Professor:

1. The legislative requirement for appointment to the vacant academic position of Professor is a doctoral degree or an equivalent academic qualification, together with at least six years of scientific and pedagogical experience.
2. When evaluating candidates for each academic position, the Commission will consider achievements in educational and research activities, which may be assessed and demonstrated through the following:
   1. Scientific publications, research scholarships and grants received during the last five years, and other scientific activities;
   2. Participation in scientific conferences and professional development events during the last five years;
   3. International cooperation and activities in academic and research fields;
   4. For candidates applying for the positions of Professor or Associate Professor, a vision for the development of the relevant academic program at the University;
   5. Syllabus or syllabi (evaluated based on content, learning outcomes, and the appropriateness of the methods used to achieve those outcomes). For the purposes of the competition, applicants may submit no more than three syllabi;
   6. A scientific publication, project, or research work which, in the applicant's opinion, best demonstrates their scientific potential;
   7. Other specific requirements established for the particular vacant academic position, where applicable.

Documents Required for the Competition:
Applicants wishing to participate in the competition are required to submit the following documentation to the Competition Commission during the application period:

1. A completed application addressed to the Competition Commission (application form available at sangu.edu.ge);
2. Curriculum Vitae (CV), in both electronic and printed formats;
3. A completed applicant questionnaire together with its electronic version (on a CD or memory card) (form available at sangu.edu.ge);
4. A copy of an identity document;
5. One passport-size photograph (3×4 cm);
6. A document certifying scientific and pedagogical employment at an authorized or equivalent higher education institution;
7. Information on scientific publications relevant to the competition field published during the last five years (at the applicant's discretion), together with the publication that best demonstrates the applicant's scientific achievements;
8. Syllabus or syllabi for the relevant course(s), prepared by the applicant, in both electronic and printed formats;
9. Notarized copies of the document(s) confirming the award of a doctoral degree;
10. Information confirming research scholarships, grants, and/or other professional activities during the last five years;
11. Information confirming participation in scientific conferences and professional development activities during the last five years;
12. Documentation confirming international cooperation and activities in the relevant field;
13. A vision for the development of the relevant academic program;
14. Documents confirming education and/or qualifications obtained abroad (if applicable), accompanied by a notarized Georgian translation and a recognition document issued by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement;
15. A certificate of criminal record and a certificate confirming that the applicant has not been deprived of the right to hold the relevant position, issued by the competent authority.
